Annmarie Shimmel is from Cleveland Ohio she graduated with a Bachelor’s of fine arts from Akron University. She has over thirty years experience with her Dance Performance Arts career in the areas of directing, teaching and choreography. She was a founder of her Dance Studio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for nearly twenty years. She primarily worked with her company dancers in the genre’s of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Acro Arts and Hip Hop. Annmarie also, has a background in coaching U.S.A. Gymnastics for levels 5-10 competitive gymnasts for seven years. She also, coached All Star Cheer and Pom competitive teams. With her passion for dance in her dance performance arts career she first worked as a professional dancer in various Musical Theatre Productions. She also, danced with the N.B.A Cleveland Cavaliers Entertainment Teams. She now enjoys being a teacher/choreographer to help enhance the dancer’s technique and performance quality in the Dance Arts Field.
