Rebekah Mayfield grew up dancing in her home town of Akron, Ohio. She continued to follow her passion locally by pursuing a degree from The University of Akron where she graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Arts in Dance with a minor in Business. At The University of Akron, Rebekah was fortunate to work hand and hand with companies such as Ballet X, Les Ballets Jazz De Montreal, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, Groundworks, Neos Dance Theatre, and Alvin Ally Dance Company. Rebekah had the opportunity to collaborate and choreograph with many of her peers and was honored by being chosen to perform at the opening ceremony of the National Center for Choreography in partnership with The University of Akron. While attending The University of Akron, Rebekah furthered her training by also working full time with Neos Dance Theatre, a local ballet company. During this time with Neos, Rebekah had the privilege of working with and performing pieces by choreographers such as Robert Wesner, Mary-Elizabeth Fenn, Stephanie Martinez, Penny Saunders, Hernando Cortez, and Joseph Morrissey. Upon graduation, Rebekah accepted a full time company position with Neos Dance Theatre.
